September 27 - 27, 2008 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM The Mount Vernon Ladies' Association joins Black Women United for
Action to commemorate the slaves who lived at Mount Vernon with a
program and wreathlaying ceremony at the Slave Memorial. This year's
event, "Remembering...the 25th Anniversary of the Slave Memorial,"
features dramatic readings, African drumming, and uplifting music in
recognition of the slaves' sacrifices and contributions to the early
formation of this nation.
The Mount Vernon Ladies' Association joins Black Women United for
