From corporate roots in sales and business development, grew
a successful daily blog and a powerful brand, Pamela’s Punch. And grow it has. In one
year from September to September, Pamela has grown her faithful audience by
87%.
Pamela Sorensen adapted her keen business acumen and flair
for promoting corporate responsibility into a dream job. You may be surprised
to know this socially active and responsible young philanthropist was not
always a PR goddess.
In fact, her successful formula for sharing what’s hot and
helpful grew out of necessity. With one half of her days spent pushing
information out about the upcoming events for committees, boards, and projects
she was actively involved in and the other half spent recounting how they went,
Pamela needed a vehicle for communication and fast.
What could easily have become more of a chore than a hobby
grew into a successful blog with a private marketing and consulting business.
While Pamela is not originally from the DC area, she has
made it her home since 1990. Her first formal career and philanthropic
experience put her in the mix of the over 8,000 charities that naturally
partner socially and professionally. Her experience helps other young
professionals easily find opportunities to get involved or at least turn out to
support their peers who are making their marks on foundations, boards, and host
committees.
As is the case with most blogs, her posts are quick and
informative like a road map but with flashy photos and no tricky folding,
leaving in depth and editorial work to sources like the Washington Post and
next generation electronic media like Local Kicks.com. Waiting like a quick,
morning caffeine jolt in your inbox, Pamela’s
Punch hits readers early most days with a few juicy details.
You may ask what is Pamela Sorensen really excited about
upcoming on the social and philanthropic scene? The only Academy sanctioned
Oscar event in the DC area, of course. This black tie event at the Hard Rock
will benefit the Red Cross. Look for more details right here on Local Kicks.com
and on Pamela’s Punch about the only red carpet walk in town.
