GOP Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin will hold a rally Oct. 27 in Leesburg at JR Festival Lakes.
 
Gates open at 7 a.m., and the rally is set to begin two hours later.
“We are excited and honored that Gov. Palin is coming to Loudoun County to lend her support for the great ‘Get Out The Vote’ effort we have undertaken for our GOP candidates,” LCRC Chairman Glen Caroline wrote on the LCRC Web site. “Loudoun Republicans and many Independents are energized and excited by the McCain/Palin ticket and are going to turn out in huge numbers at this event to show their support.”

Virginia is a key battleground state in the national presidential election.

Barack Obama, the Democratic Presidential candidate, held a rally Oct. 22 at Leesburg’s Ida Lee Park. Sen. John McCain of Arizona and Palin held a campaign rally in Fairfax County recently, while Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Joe Biden visited Sterling recently. McCain also was in eastern Prince William County (Woodbridge) last Saturday.
