Potomac Greens is holding its big Oktoberfest celebration this October 18, from noon to five.

It's a big day of rollicking autumnal revelry as Oktoberfest is celebrated outdoors (yes, there will be tents) with plenty of good food, good beer, live music and fun for the whole family.

The event's sponsor, Neighborhood Restaurant Group, is pouring a slew of brews (nearly 26 different beers on tap) with music from more than a few local artists - while imbibing on food prepared by Buzz, Rustico The Evening Star, Vermilion, Tallula, EatBar & Star Catering.

Though tickets will be sold for beer, food and other activities - general admission is free for the whole family and kids are definitely invited.

The majority of net proceeds from this event will be donated to Share Our Strength and The Capital Area Food Bank to help combat childhood hunger right here in our own backyard.

Bring along 5 cans of food as a donation to The Capital Area Food Bank on Saturday and you'll receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win one of many fantastic prizes - including a brand new scooter and a weekend getaway to the Poconos.

Up to 26 different Oktoberfest beers on draught including: BBC Oktoberfest, Weltenburger Kloster Oktober-Festbier, Left Hand Oktoberfest, Hacker Pschorr Oktoberfest and Avery Kaiser, as well as 5 Pumpkin Ales including: Southern Tier Pumking, Dogfish Head Punkin Ale, and New Holland Ichabod along with a few Harvest Ales.

Menu highlights include Bratwurst, Sauerkraut, Peppers and Onions - Emental Cheese and Cambonator Ale Soup - Porchetta Sliders - Will's Mac & Cheese - Mini Burgers - BBQ Parfaits - Vermont Cornbread - Goulash - Spatzel - Chicken and Sausage Jambalya - Cupcakes and pastries by Buzz and a whole lot more

But Wait, There's More... Planet Wine will also be on hand pouring a number of fine wines for the non-suds inclined while Buzz keeps the coffee & killer hot chocolate coming. For the kids in the crowd, there's pumpkin decorating, moon-bouncing and face painting - and for the big kids there's live music, t-shirts, souvenir mugs, raffle tickets and more...

Details:
Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 18 from noon to five in the parking lot behind Rustico (just across the street from Buzz). All ages welcome and admission is free. Tickets on sale at the door for beer, food, activities and raffle prizes. Proceeds will be donated to The Capital Area Food Bank.
