‘The Giving Tree’ Package Offers Guests a Tree and the Timeless Children’s Classic

ARLINGTON, Va., November 6, 2008 – During the holidays, it seems it is always better to give than it is to receive.  Inspired by Shel Silverstein’s timeless children’s classic ‘The Giving Tree,’ Kimpton’s Hotel Palomar Arlington at Waterview announces today a unique eco-conscious package designed to help you and our world grow as we give during the holidays.  Perfect for eco-savvy guests visiting the Washington metro area, ‘The Giving Tree’ is a budget-conscious package that reminds us that there is no better time to give green than during the holiday season.

Guests who stay at the Hotel Palomar Arlington and book ‘The Giving Tree’ package receive:
-A one night stay in a King Deluxe Room.
-A young sapling will be mailed to the guest or can be gifted to that special someone in the guest's life.  Guests can select to send or to receive either a conifer (Austrian Pine, Colorado Spruce, Deodora Cedar, or Giant Sequoia) or a deciduous sapling (Chineese Dogwood, Ginkgo, Green-Leaf Japanese, Maple, Northern Red Oak, Pin Oak, or Red-Leaf Japanese Maple)
-A keepsake copy “The Giving Tree” will serve as a welcome amenity to inspire your season of giving.
-Guests who book this package will also receive a 20 percent off discount at Domasoteca, the hotel’s gourmet wine and cheese shop, to help with any last minute gift ideas.

“The ‘Giving Tree’ package not only celebrates the spirit of holiday giving, but is a fun way of underscoring our commitment to being an environmentally-aware hotel,” says General Manager Ben Timashenka. “At Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, we are recognized as a leader in the hospitality industry when it comes to environmental responsibility. We’re thrilled to offer guests yet another opportunity to make eco-conscious travel fun, easy and affordable.”

‘The Giving Tree’ package is based on availability from November 1 through January 30, and is priced at $169 for the first night.  Additional nights are available starting at $129 per night.

To make reservations, call 866-505-1001 and ask for ‘The Giving Tree’ package.  Additional spa services and dining reservations can also be booked directly through the hotel by calling 703-351-9170.  The Hotel Palomar Arlington is located at 1121 N. 19th Street, Arlington VA 22209.  For more information visit www.hotelpalomar-arlington.com.
