It’s that time of year.

Your summer tan is somewhere between the peak of golden glow and downhill slope of fading. The focus is turning from summer’s ease to the fall’s more polished back to business and back to school looks.

Helping to get us into the groove, members of the Junior League of Washington brought ladies out to Neiman Marcus to sample fall’s hottest products in anticipation of the season’s fashionable and charitable events, like the 50th annual A Capital Collection of

Holiday Shops chaired by Alexandria’s own Mary Moran Miller and Shiela Corley. Special guests included the current JLW president, Diana Wetzel Marousek and president-elect Natalie Laing, also of Alexandria.  

Supporting the JLW’s literacy programs and partnerships with local organizations serving women and children, shoppers snapped up lipsticks and eye colors, skin care regimens, and perfumes with a portion of the proceeds from the evening’s sales.

Bobbi Brown was a waiting list only chair with talented artists applying the new Mauve  face palette and helping customers stock up on both subtle neutrals and shimmering jewel tone metallics.  To work the fall trend of rich berries and deep purples consider metallic lip color in plum or kir layered with the shimmer gloss in kir sugar.
