After a successful Waterfront festival, Alexandria Virginia is getting ready for anthor celebration.
The City of Alexandria celebrates its own birthday and the USA’s each year on the Saturday following the 4th of July. The annual event includes children’s activities, a concert performed by the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra, birthday cake and a fireworks extravaganza.

You are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Food and beverages will be available for purchase, but you are welcome to bring a picnic.

Location
Oronoco Bay Park, 7 North Lee Street, along the Potomac River between Fairfax, Pendleton and Madison Streets.
Parking
Available at Simpson Properties Garage, 700 North Fairfax Street; Carr America, 44 Canal Center Plaza; and Trammell Crow Company, 601 North Fairfax Street. Old Town Alexandria is accessible by DASH transit lines AT #2 and #5.

• 4-7:30 p.m. Community Exhibitors, Children’s Activities, and Refreshment & Food Sales • 6 p.m. Performance by Pan Master featuring Calypso, Classical, and Reggae Steel Orchestra • 7:30 p.m. Welcome by Mayor William D. Euille, Presentation of Park and Recreation Commission’s CIVIC Awards, Poetry Reading by Mary McElveen, Alexandria’s Poet Laureate. • 8 p.m. Cutting and Distribution of Birthday Cake by the Mayor and Members of City Council. • 8:30 p.m. "Dancing by the Potomac" with the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra • 9:30 p.m. Fireworks display
