In 1985, Franco Abbruzzetti opened the Trattoria da Franco in Old Town Alexandria. With its authentic Roman cuisine and traditional Italian décor, it is a favorite for locals and visitors alike. In addition to Francos excellent cuisine, the Trattoria is the home of a monthly Opera Night, where the worlds best music is presented by Kennedy Center performers. For those who wish to immense themselves more fully in the Italian tradition, Italian language classes are offered every Monday evening.
The pasta served at Trattoria da Franco is all home made, as is the Italian bread that compliments every meal. Each dish is served with pasta or vegetables. All vegetables, meat, fish and chicken are fresh and a personally selected by Franco. We have a large wine selection to compliment our menu.
Trattoria da Franco's three floor building, is around 300 years old, one of the many attractive qualities of this restaurant. Many people initially are drawn by the charm and excitement of this authentically European feeling row house restaurant that has lighted trees and outdoor seating.
Live piano and a monthly Opera Night includes a special dinner buffet, house wine and excellent performers, that have entertained visitors for the last 10 years.
We hope you join us for a total Italian experience!
