ALEXANDRIA, VA. — Sworn members of the Alexandria Sheriff's Office have begun transitioning to new uniforms on Monday, July 29. The agency is eliminating brown and tan uniforms and introducing a new shoulder patch.

Sheriff's deputies will wear solid blue uniforms instead of the brown shirts and tan pants. Those with a rank of sergeant and above will wear white shirts with blue pants to replace tan pants.

The redesigned shoulder patch features blue, gold and white colors with detail from Alexandria's city seal and a five-point star tied to sheriff's offices throughout Virginia.
