Richmond, Virginia  -  On Wednesday, Virginia Resources Recycled sent 18 trucks to Northern Virginia, heeding Sen. Chap Petersen’s (D-Fairfax) call for four-wheel drive vehicles from around the state to assist in the snowplow efforts in a speech Petersen made on the Senate floor on Monday following the region’s
unprecedented weekend snowfall.

Robert Watkins, owner of Virginia Resources Recycled, reportedly sent 18 pieces of equipment from its headquarters in Midlothian to work with the Virginia Department of Transportation after his father, Senator John Watkins (R-Powhatan), heard Petersen’s Senate impassioned plea for assistance and informed his son.

“In these stressful times, I am proud to see Virginians helping Virginians,” said Petersen who serves Virginia’s 34th Senate District, which includes much of Fairfax County and Fairfax City.
