Taste for Giving Satisfies All Tastes

ALEXANDRIA, VA. - This year’s Taste for Giving at Old Town's Torpedo Factory had something for everyone.

Guests who wanted to satisfy their urge for something spicy could check out La Tasca or Pork Barrel BBQ, while guests who wanted something hearty could grab a steak sandwich from Old Hickory Steakhouse or a meatball slider from one of the other vendors.

Alexandria Pastry Shop, Bittersweet and Ben & Jerry’s had plenty to satisfy the sweet tooth, and there was plenty more of everything else.

A silent auction gave guests plenty of opportunities to bid on gift certificates, jewelry, gift baskets and more, while the live auction had trips and wine packages.
 
Held at the Torpedo Factory and sponsored by the Rotary Club of Alexandria, the event attracted about 300 partygoers. Proceeds from the evening will be used to help local charities supported by the Alexandria Rotary.

Guests sampled food from 18 restaurants, among them Chadwicks, Chart House, Columbia Firehouse; Finn & Porter, Firehook, Hard Times Cafe, La Tasca; Laporta’s Restaurant; The Majestic; Old Hickory Steakhouse; Overwood; Pork Barrel BBQ; RedRocks Pizzeria; Tempo Restaurant; and Union Street Public House.

DelFosse Vineyards and Winery was the wine sponsor and music was provided by Dale Cinski, guitarist.
 
The Alexandria Rotary's Past President Gant Redmon, served as the auctioneer for the live auction.
