WASHINGTON, DC. - Michelin, the Rolls Royce of international dining guides, has bestowed a coveted star upon two DC restaurants: Komi and Métier, according to a release. That makes 11 one-star eateries in DC. Nine of them maintained their status from last year's guide, which was its first DC edition. Three other restaurants maintained their two-star marks.

The chef at Komi, 1509 17th Street NW, is Johnny Morris, and the guide says he serves up "a Mediterranean tasting menu that offers diners a variety of small bites, house-made pasta and roasted meat, often goat." The chef at Métier, 1015 7th Street NW, is Eric Ziebold. The guide says he "features menu items that have been locally sourced and décor items from the owners' personal collections."
