ALEXANDRIA, VA. — Lost Boy Cider, the first craft cidery in Alexandria, is close to opening at 317 Hooffs Run Drive. The hard cider production facility and tasting room will be in a refurbished warehouse. A specific opening date has not been announced.

Lost Boy Cider will make its ciders from Virginia apples and will be the first production facility to be licensed by the first Virginia Farm Winery. The cidery will have several semi-dwarf golden delicious apple trees on site that can produce up to 80 gallons of juice and reach a height up to nine feet. Lost Boy Cider club members will get the first taste from the apple trees. The first harvest will take place in fall 2020.

Founder Tristan Wright has been working to launch Lost Boy Cider for about three years, according to a press release from the governor's office. The idea originated when Wright was diagnosed with a serious soy and gluten allergy. After learning he shouldn't have some types of alcohol, he began pursuing a new passion to make cider.
