WASHINGTON - Hilton is converting one of its midrange DoubleTree hotels into the District’s first Curio Collection hotel, and prolific local chef Robert Wiedmaier will run its new restaurant.

The DoubleTree Hotel near Scott Circle on Rhode Island Avenue in Northwest D.C. is closed during the renovation. It will reopen as The Darcy, Curio Collection by Hilton next spring.

The hotel will have 226 rooms and suites and 5,500 square feet of meeting and event space. Sage Hospitality will manage the property.

Chef Robert Wiedmaier, whose well-known D.C. restaurants include Marcel’s and Brassiere Beck, and Brian McBride, Brasserie Beck’s executive chef, will open the Darcy’s restaurant, named Siren.

New Orleans restaurateur and cookbook author David Guas will also operate Lil’ B, a coffee shop and cafe at The Darcy.

Hilton launched the Curio Collection brand in 2014, one of 13 brands in Hilton’s portfolio. It operates about three dozen hotels and resorts under the Curio Collection name.
