ALEXANDRIA, VA. - The Virginia Wine Board said that 23 wines from Virginia claimed top awards in the San Francisco Wine Competition.
Proclaimed as the “Largest Competition of American Wines in the World,” the competition had over 63 professional judges on hand.
The week-long competition presented Virginia with medals ranging from Gold, Silver to Bronze. Virginia excelled in the Cabernet Franc category where six wineries took home top awards. Another strong category for Virginia was Viognier, bringing home four medals. A list of the winning wines follows.
