ALEXANDRIA, VA. - It's the Fashion event of the season in Alexandria.
The 13th Annual Toast to Fashion will be held at Belle Haven Country Club at 6:30 pm on March 22.
A premier fundraiser for The Campagna Center, the Toast to Fashion is an annual event combining a fashion show, marketplace, raffle, and reception. The evening features some of the most fashion-forward Spring trends from merchants and boutiques in Alexandria and the Washington metropolitan area, and is attended by approximately 200 guests each year.
Stores from the Old Town Boutique District will be prominently featured on the runway and in the on-site shopping boutiques at BHCC - several of Alexandria's favorite vendors will available with specially-priced merchandise for sale at the event.

A brief and very special award ceremony will also take place at The Toast to Fashion. Carrie Garland is being awarded with The Anne Culbert Legacy of Service Award, Nicole Duncan is being honored with The Barbara Pratt Lee Heart of Gold Award, and Allison Priebe Brooks is being awarded with The Golden Halo Award.
This night will also be especially meaningful because of a special award being given to Elizabeth Fawn Slack Pignatello posthumously. Elizabeth and her boyfriend, Shannon Bebe, perished in August of 2011 in a small aircraft accident.
Elizabeth was a dedicated Junior Friend who always was the life of the party with a heart of Gold. The Unsung Hero Award will be given to her mother, Enid Robinson, and Elizabeth's two children will also be present to help honor their mother with this special award.
The Toast to Fashion is organized by Laura Hartman and Jeannine Ginivan Hyde and supported by the volunteer workforce of The Campagna Center, known as The Junior Friends, a group of about 150 women volunteers ages 25-45, who work tirelessly to help support and fundraise for The Center.
Held each Spring, the Toast to Fashion combines a Fashion Show and Marketplace. Proceeds from the fashion show and sale benefit the programs of the Campagna Center, which helps more than 1,700 Alexandria children arrive at school ready to be successful at each grade level.
The programs includ: Alexandria Head Start (child development program serving low-income families); Early Head Start (community-based program for low-income families with infants and toddlers); Campagna Early Learning Center (full-day preschool program for all children); Afternoon Adventures (extended-day preschool program running from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm); Campagna Kids (quality before- and after-school childcare and tutoring); Building Better Futures (tutoring and mentoring for Latino and non-Latino ESL students); and New Neighbors (New Neighbors provides educational programs and related services to help immigrant and refugee families become self-sufficient and fully participating members of our community).
In addition to the fashion show and fabulous shopping at Belle Haven CC the food and drinks are always out of this world!
