Fairfax, VA - Wendy Wang will be the featured artist at Fairfax Old Town Hal with her new “Light and Motion” collection highlighted with recently created still life presentations, portraits, and dancers.
This special new fall art exhibition will open on Thursday, September 2 and will run through Monday, October 4. It will be free to the public with a wine and cheese opening reception where you may personally meet the artist at the Fairfax Old Town Hall – Second Floor Gallery on Thursday, September 9th, 2010 from 7 to 9 PM.
Wendy Wang has recently displayed her artwork at the Historic Old Town Hall, Fairfax, VA; the Village Plaza Art Gallery, Fairfax, VA; Commonwealth Wine and Polo Show; the ArtDC Gallery; Design Studio Art Gallery, and Cheryl Edwards Studio, Hyattsville, MD and at the Spring 2010 Gallery Walk, Manassas, VA.
Her work will also be on display at the Phillip Carter Winery in November through January of 2010-2011 and it will be part of a special group show at the Ratner Museum in Bethesda, MD. Wang is currently the Publicity Chair for the Fairfax Art League, a member of the Art League of Alexandria, National Oil & Acrylic Painter’s Society and The Portrait Society of America. “My artwork is a complete exploration of the emotions from the physical world around me," Wang notes. "I find inspiration and emotion in portraits, landscapes and even still life subjects. That's why my subject matter is always so fluid. Each piece conveys a singular mood that ties them together.”
The Fairfax Art League Gallery exhibit will be held at two locations. The first will be in the Fairfax Village Gallery located at 3840 University Drive in the City of Fairfax near Route 123 on Fridays from 3 to 9 PM and Saturdays from 1 to 9 PM. This featured artist and group show exhibition will also be displayed one block away at the Fairfax Old Town Hall located at 3999 University Drive at the corner of Main Street from 10 Am to 2 PM Mondays through Thursdays. This Fairfax Gallery is on the second floor.
Fairfax Art Lecture Series: On Wednesday, September 29 the Fairfax Art League will host their Art Lecture Series event on ‘Norman Rockwell & American Life’. This will be presented by a docent from the Museum of American Art at the City of Fairfax Regional Library from 7 to 8:30 PM located at 10360 North Main Street, Fairfax, VA 22030. The Norman Rockwell Exhibit is currently at the American Museum of American Art in Washington, DC with paintings on loan from the Steven Spielberg and George Lucas Collections. Seating is limited.
