ALEXANDRIA, VA. - Alexandrian's donned boots and bling for The Center for Alexandria's Children's 7th Annual Gala - Boots and Bling - A Western Fling!  The soiree was a huge success under dynamic co-chairs, Jessica Richardson and Kathy Martin.  The festive high-end hoe-down was hosted at the Alexandria hot spot Black Wall Hitch and featured live cowboy music from Herb and Hanson, a southwestern dinner buffet, games and a top-of-the-line raffle with items like trips to a ranch in Jackson Hole, WY or to the Virginia countryside for a visit to The Inn at Little Washington.

Each year The CAC awards a frontline worker (social worker, detective, prosecutor, etc.) and a community member who has contributed significantly to the safety of the children in the Alexandria community. This year’s awardees are Detective Kevin Thomas (Alexandria Police Department) and Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP – CAC's pro bono law firm.

All proceeds raised from this event go directly to help child abuse victims and vulnerable families in the Alexandria community - kids who have been victimized by or are at risk of abuse. The Center for Alexandria’s Children is where people come for help. Their nationally accredited Child Advocacy Center program ensures people receive prompt, respectful, and comprehensive care all in one safe, child-friendly place.  CAC's staff provides free training and resources to keep Alexandria’s kids safe.

The Center for Alexandria's Children website has great info about services on their web-site: www.alexandriaskids.org.
