WASHINGTON, DC. - It's going to be a beautiful scene on the Ellipse in front of the White House Thursday evening for the 95th annual National Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony, and you can watch the livestream right here on the White House's YouTube channel. The stream will begin at around 5 p.m. EST.

Kathie Lee Gifford and Dean Cain will headline the ceremony on the Ellipse at President's Park, which will be aired on the Hallmark Channel on Dec. 4. Also performing at the event are The Beach Boys, Wynonna, the Texas Tenors, and Jack Wagner.

"In 1923, President Calvin Coolidge walked from the White House to the Ellipse to light a 48-foot fir tree decorated with 2,500 electric bulbs in red, white and green, as a local choir and a 'quartet' from the U.S. Marine Band performed," states the National Christmas Tree website. "93 years later, this American holiday tradition continues to bring citizens together to share in a message of hope and peace."

For commuters in the area, it's won't be such a beautiful scene. The ceremony has long caused evening congestion in the D.C. area, and this year promises to be no different. Authorities will shut down 15th Street NW and 17th Street NW on either side of the White House, and Constitution Avenue will be closed between 14th Street NW and 18th Street NW starting at around 2 p.m.

Those roadblocks will remain in place until 8 p.m. If you want to avoid the madness, you'd better leave work early.

"Today" host Kathie Lee Gifford and actor Dean Cain will host the 2017 National Christmas Tree Lighting, according to the event website.

Performer for the evening include: country music star Wynonna, Emmy Award-winners The Texas Tenors, Jack Wagner, the U.S. Navy Band directed by Steve Gibson, classic rock 'n' rollers The Beach Boys, and Mannheim Steamroller, along with Craig Campbell, Boys II Bow Ties, and Us The Duo.
