Annual Festival Hopes to Expose Kids to Art

ALEXANDRIA, VA. -- The Alexandria Symphony Orchestra will hold its annual “Children’s Arts Festival” this Sunday, June 6th, from 2 to 4 PM.
 
Traditional activities will include an instrument petting zoo run, professional artist-led activities, and a reading center led by professional librarians.
 
New activities planned for this year include “Just for Kids” yoga lesson, Bowen McCauley dance lesson, face painting, and much more.
 
Featured theme will include the Romeo & Juliet story through the centuries, involving music by Prokofiev (Romeo & Juliet), Bernstein (West Side Story), and selections from the music of the Twilight film series.
 
The festival will be held at the Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall & Arts Center at the Alexandria campus of Northern Virginia Community College.
 
General admission is $5.00
