ALEXANDRIA, VA. - Bishop Ireton' varsity volleyball team recently completed its best-ever season with 22 wins and 9 losses. The team advanced to the championships of both the VISAA state and the WCAC league tournaments.

“I think it was a good year,” Head Coach Owen Ranger said. “We fell a little short of both of our primary goals – we wanted to win the WCAC championship and win a state title, but we made it to the finals in both, which was still a first for volleyball at Ireton.”

Ranger said he walked into a good situation and talented roster when he accepted the coaching position: seven of the 14 players were seniors who had previously played on varsity and almost the entire starting line up from the 2016-2017 season returned this season.
