Bishop Ireton Crew Opens Its Spring Season

ALEXANDRIA, VA. --  Bishop Ireton Crew opened its spring season this Saturday, March 20, hosting the Anacostia Regatta at the Anacostia Community Boat House next to the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, D.C.The Bishop Ireton boys will be competing against the DeMatha High School boys and the Bishop Ireton girls will be competing against the girls' team from Elizabeth Seton High School.
 
On March 27, Bishop Ireton hosted the Bishop's Cup and Cindy Cole Cup Regattas at the Anacostia Community Boat House next to the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, D.C.  
 
The boys and girls crews from Bishop Ireton and Bishop O'Connell High Schools once again battled for the right to keep the Bishop's Cup for another year.  
 
Total team points will determine the winning school.  This will be run concurrently with the Cindy Cole Cup Regatta which this year will feature ten schools including Bishop Ireton, Bishop O'Connell, Academy of the Holy Cross, Sidwell Friends, Wilson, Whitman and others, to determine which school rules the river in this early season classic. A boat blessing and dedication will also be part of the events.
 
All are welcome to cheer on the Bishop Ireton crews which are defending their right to retain the Cups!  Enjoy the Anacostia site, the river banks, cheering from the bridges, supporting 65 of your fellow classmates, etc. Date changes possible due to weather conditions.
