ALEXANDRIA, VA. - Louis Barnett, a 2008 T.C. Williams graduate, will complete a cross-country bike ride this weekend for Push America’s Journey of Hope. He and his Pi Kappa Phi brothers have traveled over 4,000 miles since beginning their trip in San Francisco on June 7. Along with other teams who started in Los Angeles and Seattle, Barnett will arrive at the U.S. Capitol around 11 a.m. on Sunday, August 5.
Journey of Hope, which began in 1987, promotes awareness and acceptance for people living with disabilities. It annually raises over $500,000 and this year the program set a goal of raising $600,000, which it surpassed. All riders are required to raise $5,000 to contribute to their teams. Barnett has raised $6,205.50.
