Resident Rescued From Fire At Belle Haven Home

BELLE HAVEN, VA. - Fairfax County and Alexandria firefighters battled a fire at a Belle Haven home early Thursday afternoon. There have not been reports of injuries thus far.

Firefighters worked to extinguish the fire that spread into the attic in the 6100 Block of Vernon Terrace. One person was rescued from the home safely, according to the IAFF Local chapter in Alexandria.

It had been upgraded to a two-alarm fire before firefighters were able to get it under control around 1 p.m.

There is no immediate word on the cause of the fire. Investigators are on scene.
