HUNTINGTON, VA. — Police say a gun was fired during an attempted theft in Huntington Sunday, Oct. 7.

Around 10:30 p.m., three teenagers were outside a restaurant in the 2200 block of Huntington Avenue when one ran in and stole the tip jar. The teens tried to flee, but the restaurant manager chased them and fired a "warning shot into the air," according to police.

Officers located the teens and charged them with petit larceny. They were released to their parents.
