ALEXANDRIA, VA. — An Alexandria man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for sexually assaulting a woman in her home, according to the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office in Loudoun County. Melvin Eliazar Moreno Rodriguez, 39, was sentenced on one count of aggravated sexual battery by force, threat, or intimidation with serious injury.

The incident reportedly happened on March 17, 2017, whe Moreno Rodriguez was a contractor in the victim's home. The man sexually assaulted the victim while the other contractors were out for lunch, according to prosecutors The victim was fought him off and fled to get help.

Moreno Rodriguez's DNA turned up on the victim's chest during a following medical exam.
