ALEXANDRIA, VA. - An Alexandria man accused of executing the manager of the CVS on Blackwell Road was granted a $75,000 secured bond today in Fauquier County Circuit Court.

Bernard Clark Duse Jr., 76, allegedly shot his supervisor, Rex Mack Olsen, 54, as he was leaving the store in July. Judge Jeffrey Parker granted Duse bond after a two-hour hearing. Duse was previously denied bond in Fauquier County General District Court, but his attorney appealed the decision to the higher court.

In his ruling, Parker said Duse has not shown any reason for the court to believe he will not appear at future hearings and that his age makes any possible attempts at escaping unlikely. Parker said while the allegations against Duse raise “serious concern,” the man also has no previous criminal records or instances of violence.
