It really stinks when you lose your cell phone. How about losing your cell phone and your wallet at a bank you've just robbed?
Poor Carlos Williams of Alexandria. He allegedly robbed a bank in Frederick in May and then left his cell phone and his wallet sitting on the bank counter, according to Frederick County police.
The wallet led to an address in Alexandria, but Williams was able to elude his captors. The police said that Williams committed a similar robbery at a bank in Libertytown in mid-June. Investigators said they knew immediately who was responsible.
Last week, the 28-year-old Williams and his 37-year-old girlfriend, Denise Smith, were arrested in District Heights, Md., where they both live. Montgomery County Police said they recovered a BB gun used in the robberies and some cash.
