AROUND TOWN/A Taste for Giving, Ghosts and Fashion

If the smiles on the faces of the guests were any indication, then last Friday’s Taste for Giving was a huge success. Held at the Torpedo Factory and sponsored by the Rotary Club of Alexandria, the event attracted over 300 attendees. Proceeds from the evening will be used to help local charities supported by the Alexandria Rotary Foundation.

Moment Magazine Celebrates 35 Years

In 1975, Leonard Fein and Elie Wiesel saw a need for a publication that would address issues that affected the American Jewish community. A collaborative effort, Fein and Wiesel decided to launch a magazine – they called it Moment. Wiesel was the literary editor and Fein was the founding editor. Fein loved the magazine and he enjoyed working with Carol Kur and Bill Novak.
