FAIRFAX, VA. - Oreo, a 2-year-old spayed guinea pig, is available from the Fairfax County Animal Shelter. Picasso, a 3½ -month-old neutered cat, is available from the Fairfax City Animal Shelter.

The Fairfax County Animal Shelter, 4500 West Ox Rd., has animals available for adoption. More animals can be seen at petango.com. Animal viewing and adoption hours are noon to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays. The shelter is closed on holidays. For information, call 703-830-1100. The Humane Society of Fairfax County offers animals for adoption. Call 703-385-7387 or go to hsfc.org for information. The Fairfax City Animal Shelter is at Town and Country Animal Hospital, 9836 Fairfax Blvd. Call 703-273-2110 or go to fairfaxva.gov and click on “Animal Control” on the department’s main page.
