ALEXANDRIA, VA. -
Lots of pets were rescued during the 2017 hurricane season as families in Texas and Florida had to flee their homes, but not all of their pets have found their forever homes yet.

One of these pets is Diamond, a sweet dog available for adoption from Alexandria rescue group Operation Paws for Homes. The five-year-old American Staffordshire terrier/labrador retriever mix was rescued from Texas during Hurricane Harvey. The rescue group partnered with Olde Town Pet Resort in Springfield and San Antonio Pets Alive to assist displaced 12 dogs from Hurricane Harvey. Diamond and the other dogs stayed at the pet resort until they could find foster and permanent homes.

Currently she's being fostered in Vienna and is quite content being a homebody. She gets along well with other pets and would love a family that likes to stay home and cuddle.
