Twilight Run Lights Up Crystal City

Crystal City – Moonlight will illuminate the course as runners take their marks for the 3rd Annual Crystal City Twilighter 5K race on Saturday, July 24 at 8 PM.  
 
Hosted by the Crystal City Business Improvement District in partnership with Pacers Running Stores, the Twilighter features spectacular nighttime views of Crystal City along a fast, flat course through area streets followed by a festive, outdoor, post-race party.
 
“We love the uniqueness of this event," said Angela Fox, the President and CEO of the Crystal City BID. "The evening start time provides runners with a rare opportunity for comfortable race temperatures during the hot summer months, and the fun and festive atmosphere paints a great experience and image for our area."

The popular post-race party features music, beverages, and snacks in the courtyard of 2121 Crystal Drive, creating the perfect atmosphere at the finish line to celebrate completion of the race and to kick-off a Saturday night.  
 
Runners can freshen up at the local Sport & Health with free showers before joining the party.  Participants will receive a complementary technical running shirt, and can have race results sent directly to their phones.  The top finishers will receive great prizes, with bonuses of $100 for any male under 14:30, or any female under 17:00. Olympian Brian Sell will also be available at the Fitness Together tent to meet running enthusiasts and provide inspiration to future Olympic hopefuls.

With free garage parking on evenings, weekends, and holidays, Crystal City is the perfect place for visitors to get active by jumping onto the Mount Vernon and Four Mile Run trails.
 
Crystal City features a number of other Crystal FIT events including free outdoor Zumba and yoga classes offered by Sport & Health, the Air Force Cycling Classic/Crystal Ride, 5K Friday series, Bike to Work Day, Bike DC and the Marine Corps Marathon.
