ALEXANDRIA, VA. - Walker Lamond is a DC area native and the author behind one of the most cleverly written books to hit the shelves in years - and dare we say it - a potential perfect Father's Day gift.
When a critic from The Wall Street Journal wrote, "This may be one book that actually has changed my life." It became especially hard not to take notice of the book Rules for My Unborn Son - which was released about eight months ago.

We had the chance to catch up with Walker at causal reception held at The Barber Shop in Georgetown and hosted by the DC Literati Society to benefit the DC Public Library Foundation.
Personally I have known Walker for nearly 20 years since we were classmates at Episcopal High School here in Alexandria. Walker was someone that always impressed me as being cool without being prickish - which is a hard line to walk for most.
Walker graduated from The University of Virginia and made a name for himself as a television producer whose documentaries have appeared on the Discovery Channel, National Geographic Channel, TruTV, and HBO. He has written for numerous publications including Stop Smiling Magazine, Valet, Babble, and Asylum.
Walker started working on a blog http://rulesformyunbornson.tumblr.com/ several years ago before he even had a son. He wanted to as he puts it, "get some things straight before I get old and uncool."
The book is complied of 1001 rules for a man to live by. Some of Walker's rules to live my include favorite rules include...
- When in doubt, wear a tie.
- Be a vigorous dancer.
- Talent is learned. Learn to sing.
- You are what you do, not what you say.
- Eat more vegetables.
Lamond lives in Washington with his wife and their son Arthur, who arrived shortly after the completion of his first book Rules for My Unborn Son and a baby girl.
