Please do a follow up on how Alexandrians can help this family. I have had the same thing happen to me with overdraft charges. It's like the bank is kicking you when you are down...

CAN WE HELP...I am sorry...I understand everything this man is going through, Bank of America did the same thing to me this year, luckily not during the holidays. But still to go to work and then have overdraft fees take your entire paycheck and then not be able to provide for your family, is the worst thing that could happen during the holidays. Not being able to enjoy Christmas the way one had planned. No food on the table, two utilities that may or will be shut off if not paid, kids having to suffer because a company is being too greedy. Definitions of greedy on the Web: • avaricious: immoderately desirous of acquiring e.g. wealth; "they are avaricious and will do anything for money" • greed - excessive desire to acquire or possess more (especially more material wealth) than one needs or deserves Bank of America should be ashamed of themselves. To take a human being’s paycheck of $820.00 for fee’s and still expect them to pay another $220.00 in additional fees is definitely greedy in my dictionary. Then to be able to pay another human being $50 Million dollars for his first year at work is outrageous. Why is Brian Moynihan worth more than the clients that trust their money to Bank of America? I know that the gentleman in the story did not want to be identified, but if there is anything, like a small donation of food or even something for the kids, please let Local Kicks know, I would like to help in some small way Carol

This article confirms my intention to close my Bank of America accounts and move them to Burke and Herbert - a local bank that wouldn't dream of doing such a thing to a long time customer!!

I believe all local BoA customers should write threatening to take their money out of BoA unless this situation is corrected.

Excellent article. Please do keep after the bank. I do agree that the man in the article should be more careful, but we all make mistakes and the bank fees are excessive. He needs an advocate - your article is a good start.

My heart goes out to this person. There should be a law to protect consumers from this type of abuse. LocalKicks, please continue to call the bank on this person's behalf. He won't have a chance on his own.
