200 Turkeys Delivered To Needy Families In Alexandria - Source Patch

ALEXANDRIA, VA. - Thanks to a team of local partners, 200 needy families in Alexandria can celebrate Thanksgiving with a full table of food. Families received food donations Tuesday, Nov. 21 at Brent Place Apartments (375 South Reynolds Street).

Islamic Relief USA, an Alexandria-based humanitarian organization, identified needy families to benefit from the program. Families received a 14-pound turkey with sides such as vegetables and stuffing.

Locally, the nonprofit is partnering with Alexandria and Metropolitan Police Departments, Brent Place Apartments and nonprofits ALIVE!, Third Pillar Charities, the United Planning Organization and Homes for America. Mayor Allison Silberberg and City Councilmember Willie Bailey also attended.
