WOODBRIDGE, VA. - So a guy walks into a a convenience store and a strategically placed sign catches his eye. It refers to a new Virginia Lottery scratch game, "Extreme Millions." As such, he reacts accordingly: "I thought, 'Well, let me take a chance.' "

So he did. And by doing so, Woody Simmons of Hyattsville, Md., found himself with a winning $10 million ticket, courtesy of the Exxon at 13505 Minnieville Road. "I just screamed in my car with all the windows up," said Simmons, who works for the U.S. Postal Service.

The odds of getting the top prize were 1 in 2,937,600. Simmons chose the cash option of $6,570,302 instead of the full amount over 30 years. The station, officially Optimax Service Center, received $50,000 for selling the grand-prize ticket. Three more winning tickets are out there somewhere.
