With holiday travel nearly upon us queasy little stomachs and weary parents are gearing up for travels less over the river and through the woods but more planes, trains and automobiles.  For a child with motion sickness and the parents left to clean it up there is a new resource to help keep your journey barf free.

Alexandria’s own Trish Thackston stands ready with a convenient new website chock full of products researched and tested to be effective weapons in the battle against barf.  As a motion sickness sufferer herself, Thackston decided to put her mom instincts to work while investigating remedies for her son.

Trish Thackston dove headfirst into small business with the launch of her popular online pregnancy and children’s website TheBabyHammock.com in 1999. After the birth of her first child and the frustration of wasted money on products that didn’t get the job done, Thackston found her calling as a product tester and marketer. CarSickKids.com represents the second phase of her experience as a entrepreneur and mother on the job.

CarSickKids.com seeks to soothe and offers a starter kit including remedies ranging from a variety of lollipops to an acupressure band designed to be adjustable for a perfect fit.

Trish Thackston and her family have lived in Alexandria for 13 years. She is also active in her elementary school PTA and Stop Child Abuse Now. In her spare time, she moonlights as a jewelry designer.

Susanne Seidman does not suffer for carsickness and is grateful neither of her children do. She can be reached at SSeidman@LocalKicks.com
