Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN) of Northern Virginia is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the well-being of children, improve parent-child relations and prevent child abuse and neglect by:
- EDUCATING the community about the scope, nature and consequences of child abuse and neglect and the importance of positive, nurturing parenting;
- PROVIDING direct parent education;
- ADVOCATING for children in the community, the legislature and the courts.

The mission of The Scholarship Fund of Alexandria (SFA), through its relationships within the community, is to encourage and assist the students of the Alexandria City Public Schools by providing them with the necessary resources to pursue a college or post- secondary education.

To provide the greater Alexandria community with symphonic performances of the highest caliber, coupled with intense community outreach programs through our collaboration with the City of Alexandria Public School system. The ASO regularly performs a 5 program subscription series at the Rachel M. Schlesigner Concert Hall at the NOVA Community College, Alexandria campus, along with several concerts solely for the youth of Alexandria .
