“We are excited to offer our patients who live in a very multi-cultural area more variety in their food choices,” said Bonita Easter, the hospital's director of Food and Nutrition Services. “Our International Menu will offer authentic choices for patients and employees alike, reflecting the diverse community that we are so proud to represent and serve.”
Among its new exotic offerings, there are Latin American foods that include fried plantains, flan, black beans and rice and West African menu options such as Nkatankwan Soup and Palaya Source Stew.
Indian food options include Garlic Naan Bread, Papadum with Fig Sauce and Ras Malai and Middle Eastern items including Tabbouli Pilaf, Hummus with Pita Chips and Baklava.
Similar ethnic menu items will be introduced at other Inova hospitals in September.
