“Unique Venue” – defined as a place that offers something special – in other words, not the same-old meeting place.
By Gale Curcio
Alexandria, Virginia - In the case of Indigo Landing, that something special is a panoramic view of the Potomac River, National Airport and the DC skyline.

It was the perfect setting for the September meeting of the Special Event Sites Marketing Alliance – a group whose mission is “to develop cooperative marketing programs that bring its members' special event sites to the attention of the tens of thousands of meeting/event professionals and wedding planners throughout the country who seek unique venues for their functions.”
Other event sites include such notable venues as President Lincoln’s Cottage, National Press Club and Hillwood Estate, while supplier members range from the likes of Ridgewells Caterer to Bialek’s Music.
Guests gathered out on the deck for drinks and passed hors d'oeuvres until they were called inside where Peggy Martz, SESMA Education Chair, addressed the audience and introduced Katherine Turner of Indigo Landing.
For more information on SESMA, visit www.sesma.org. Indigo Landing is located at 1 Marina Dr, Alexandria, VA 22314 and can be reached at 703-548-0001.
