Everyone is Irish on St. Pats at the Wharf

Busy with jobs and families by day, the six  Alexandria husbands and dads who make up Black Moon Tonic are even busier rockin it out by night. That’s quite an accomplishment for a group who have 21 kids between them. But if you fly a plane as your day job or commission the Ft. Hunt baseball league by night you don’t shy away from busy.

Ask vocalist and rhythm guitar player Adam Fazackerley what he Charlie, Jim, Mark, Paul, and Craig all have in common and he will tell you easily and with confidence what creates the harmonious sound of BMT is more a convergence of deep and varied music backgrounds under the blessing of understanding wives.

With 72 plus gigs and an upcoming show at the Birchmere benefiting the Alexandria Community Trust, Black Moon Tonic covers not only hits by the Eagles but plays every kind of venue from private shows to watering hole bars.
St. Patrick’s Day Black Moon Tonic transformed the sleepy Wharf on Ft. Hunt into a full on boot stompin situation.  The crowd turned out in such numbers that one regular continually commented he had never seen so many attractive women, which no one had trouble believing. Working the crowd and taking requests in front of a full dance floor, the show was too good to be free.

Black Moon Tonic is moving steadily towards developing more original music during their weekly practices at St. Aidan’s in Alexandria.  If the process proves to be as authentic as the origin of the band’s unique but somehow familiar name, the sky will be the limit and all of Alexandria will be dancing and wailing under a black moon.
