1789 Restaurant
|
To satisfy the discriminating,
savvy and prudent Washington diner, the historic 1789 Restaurant in
Georgetown is pleased to offer a new fixed price three-course menu at
an affordable $40 per person (exclusive of tax and gratuity). Although
menu items will change daily, Executive Chef Daniel Giusti has included
a number of distinctive options for guests.
Appetizer items include Northern
Neck Broccoli Soup with beer battered Burgundy snails and Neal’s Yard
Montgomery Cheddar, Maple Glazed Duck Confit and Frisée Salad, Blis
bourbon barrel syrup, coddled duck egg, dried pear and hazelnut
croutons and sherry vinaigrette, and Pappardelle with pan roasted
chicken livers, sage butter and Parmigiano Reggiano.
Guests can also expect enticing entrée choices such as North
Atlantic Skate Wing with stewed green lentils and a salad of frisée,
apple wood smoked bacon and pomegranate, Emerald Farms Pork Chop with a
warm salad of scarlet turnips and dried Jonathan apples, stewed baby
turnip greens and roasted pork, and Braised Beef Short Rib with white
hammon sweet potato purée and Brussels sprouts.
Diners can
finish the three-course meal by selecting any dessert from Pastry Chef
Travis Olson’s menu. His autumnal desserts include Open-faced
Caramel Apple Pie, Concord Grape Granite, Chocolate Espresso Trifle,
Pumpkin Croissant Pudding, Chocolate-Glazed Gingerbread Cake along with a selection of cheeses, ice creams, and sorbets.
