Episcopal High School Boys’ Varsity Soccer advanced to the Virginia Independent School Athletic Association state finals with a thrilling 5-4 victory over Paul VI of Fairfax Nov. 7  in a game decided by penalty kicks.

Playing at Sports Backers Stadium in Richmond, the game was tied 1-1 at the end of regulation. After a five-minute-overtime that failed to produce a score, Episcopal advanced to the title game by edging Paul VI 5-4 in penalty kicks with Shadow Sebele clinching the final goal.

Episcopal will meet Norfolk Academy, who had earlier defeated Liberty Christian 4-0 in the other semifinal, in the championship match Friday in Richmond.
